Start early, go for an early tour of the Irvin. Check their website or call for updated schedules. The North Shore Scenic Railroad runs at 1pm every day all summer, so it is a perfect afternoon ride, and when the train returns at 2:15, head right over the bridge to the Great Lakes Aquarium.
Dinner can be done on the road, or at one of Duluth’s many fantastic restaurants.
